Namaf’s object is to control, promote, encourage and co-ordinate the establishment, development and functioning of funds in Namibia. (This applies to all private funds).

It should be noted that the State Medical Aid Scheme (PSEMAS) is exempted from the provisions of the Medical Aid Funds Act of Namibia and, as such, the members have no recourse through Namaf should they experience problems with payments, etc.

People residing in Namibia who belong to South African Funds that are not registered in Namibia will also have no recourse through Namaf should they experience problems with payments, etc.
